29th of October 2024: Welcome to our new lab members, Yiming Huang, Arshia Garg and Anusha Tiwari! All are majoring in Computer Science and will work on computational analyses in the lab.
14th of October 2024: Elyse Guadagno joined our lab! Elyse is a sophomore in the Cell Biology & Neuroscience major.
5th-9th of October 2024: Eleanna attended the SFN conference in Chicago and presented a poster on the work completed in our lab in our first year.

23rd of September 2024: We celebrated our lab’s first anniversary!!!
19th of September 2024: We were privileged to host a special seminar by Prof. Pilong Li from Tsinghua University in China, who gave a fascinating talk on his lab’s work on phase separation.
15th of September 2024: Eleanna has been appointed to the EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants Advisory Board! Many thanks to the EMBO fellowship programme for the invitation and this exciting opportunity!
10th of September 2024: Welcome to Bianca Castro, who joined our lab as an Aresty research assistant!
5th of September 2024: Eleanna, Katelyn and Bianca attended the Rutgers-Princeton Biomolecular Condensates Day! We were excited to learn about the extensive research that is undertaken in the biomolecular condensate “capital” of the world, and to present our own work on alpha-synuclein condensates.
3rd of September 2024: Welcome to Anjana Rao, who joined our lab today as an Aresty research assistant!

2nd of August 2024: Congratulations to our outstanding summer student Ben for an amazing presentation at the NeuroSURP end of program symposium! It was a privilege having him in our lab, and good luck with the next steps!
1st of August 2024: Eleanna gave an online seminar at the Department of Neurodegenerative Diseases at UCL. It was great seeing so many old faces and sharing the research we have been working on at Rutgers!

23rd-28th of June 2024: Eleanna attended the Gordon Research Conference on Intrinsically disordered proteins in Les Diableters, Switzerland. She gave a talk on the work we are currently wrapping up in the lab, and was excited to hear about the diverse research going on in the field and make new friends from all around the world.
18th of June 2024: Eleanna gave a talk at the HFSP conference in Washington DC, where she presented the work that is underway in our lab.
13th of June 2024: We had a Barbie themed lab lunch!
10th of June 2024: Welcome to Ananya Guntur who is a rising sophomore majoring in computer science! She will be working on computational analyses as well as wet lab experiments.

29th of May 2024: Welcome to Ben Sacks, who joined our lab as a summer student through the NeuroSURP program!
23rd of May 2024: Some amusement in the lab! Today was our first annual test of the emergency shower :D
13th of May 2024: Welcome to Jiya Mody who joined our lab as a summer student! She is a rising sophomore at Yale university, where she is studying molecular biophysics and biochemistry. She will work on computational structural biology analyses in the lab, as well as on wet lab projects including tissue culture and microscopy.
9th of May 2024: Congratulations to Anjana Rao and Bianca Leanna Castro who matched to our lab as Aresty Research Assistants! We are proud that our top applicants decided to join our lab and we are looking forward to them starting their research experience in September. Many thanks to all 42 outstanding applicants to our lab through this program. The exceptional interest resulted in ranking of our project as the second most popular across Rutgers!
6th - 10th of May 2024: Eleanna attended the Engineering iPSCs to Model Neurological Diseases workshop at the Jackson laboratory. We learned from leaders in the field how to handle iPSc in the lab, as well as best practices and cutting edge techniques on genome editing. Many thanks to the organizers, Bill Skarnes, Mark Cookson and Michael Ward for putting together an amazing workshop, as well as all staff scientists at the Jax lab for the teaching sessions!

15th of April 2024: Rotation student Katelyn VanderSleen is joining our lab to complete her PhD thesis!
March 2024
29th of March 2024: We had our monthly lab lunch, during which we celebrated Elena’s acceptance to medical school at Rutgers! We enjoyed Middle Eastern food from a local restaurant, and our undergraduate student, Neha, also treated us to her homemade brownies!
22nd of March 2024: Our rotation student from the Molecular Biosciences PhD program, Katelyn VanderSleen, presented a poster on her rotation project during the annual Molecular Biosciences Graduate Student Symposium at Rutgers! Eleanna was a judge for posters during that symposium and was impressed by the amazing quality and breadth of the research undertaken by graduate students across Rutgers.
18th of March 2024: Philip Socha joined our lab! He is a first year undergraduate student in Cell Biology & Neuroscience, and a member of the SAS Honors program.
February 2024
23rd of February 2024: Congratulations to our awesome technician, Elena Eubanks, who got accepted to her top choice MD program at Rutgers RWJMS! She will be continuing her important research in our lab on a part time basis during her medical studies.
11th of February 2024: We had our monthly lab lunch to celebrate everybody’s accomplishments over the past 4 months!

16th of January 2024: Sanjana Archakam joined our lab as a coop undergraduate student from Northeastern University in Boston!
December 2023
19th of December 2023: The lab had its first Christmas party! Happy Holidays!
6th -8th December 2023: Eleanna attended the HFSP meeting for current awardees and alumni in Cape Town, South Africa. It was great attending numerous talks and visiting posters presenting cutting edge science. Eleanna presented a poster on our current and previous work on a-synuclein. We are excited to return from this meeting with several new collaborations!
4th of December 2023: Katelyn VanderSleen joined our lab for her second rotation! She is a graduate student in the Molecular Biosciences PhD program at Rutgers.
November 2023
11th-15th November 2023: Eleanna attended the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting in Washington DC. It was great learning about the exciting new research across the entire breadth of neuroscience and catching up with old colleagues and friends.
7th of November 2023: Robert Kimelman joined our lab as a research intern!
1st-5th of November 2023: Eleanna attended the EMBO Lab Leadership course, as well as the EMBO fellows and alumni meeting in Newport beach, California. She gave her first talk as a PI, where she presented the very first data generated by our lab at Rutgers. She also participated in the career development/mentorship panel where former EMBO fellows were invited to give advice to current fellows on academic careers. In addition, she chaired a session and was a member of the poster and short talk evaluation committee.
October 2023
5th of October 2023: Elena Eubanks joined our lab as a postbac research technician!
4th of October 2023: Neha Patel joined our lab as its first undergraduate student! Neha is in her second year in the Cell Biology & Neuroscience program at Rutgers University.
September 2023
28th of September 2023: The lab is fully set up and we did our first tissue culture experiment!
7-8th of September 2023: We have received the first deliveries of large pieces of equipment!
1st of September 2023: The lab officially opened its doors on the 1st of September! Below are pictures of our gorgeous space in the building of the School of Public Health at the Piscataway campus of Rutgers university.
